Lachenmayer Named to NCBWA Midseason Stopper of the Year Watch List

DALLAS – Freshman left-handed pitcher Danny Lachenmayer has been named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Midseason Stopper of the Year watch list, the organization announced on Wednesday afternoon.

Lachenmayer has made 15 relief appearances for the Bison this season and has totaled 33 strikeouts over 21.1 innings. The Eagan, Minn., native has posted a team-high six saves this season, which ranks second in the Summit League and 32nd in the nation. Lachenmayer has notched a 3.38 ERA and his holding opponents to a .164 batting average. He also hasn’t allowed a run or a hit in his last five appearances on the mound.

Lachenmayer is one of only six freshmen to earn a spot on the watch list, joining Brendan Conner (UAB), Cason Evans (LSU), Kade Eudy (TCU), Walker McDuffie (North Carolina) and Dylan Volantis (Texas). He also joins Conner Floyd from Oral Roberts as the only Summit League pitchers on the list.
