“It’s about making a difference and encouraging young people to embrace their journey and rise above challenges to make an impact in this world, just as Khyree did,” Ebbony said.
The Vikings honored Khyree in several ways after his passing, including the wearing of “KJ” helmet decals and lapel pins during the season and leaving his locker at TCO Performance Center untouched. Throughout the 2024 season, Aaron Jones, Sr., and other teammates placed fresh flowers there in remembrance and respect.
In preparation for the upcoming offseason program, the Vikings invited the Jackson family Thursday to collect Khyree’s belongings from his locker and share their plans for the foundation with staff, coaches and teammates. Among those present to embrace the Jacksons were Vikings General Manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah, Head Coach Kevin O’Connell, Defensive Coordinator Brian Flores, Special Teams Coordinator Matt Daniels, Assistant Special Teams Coordinator Dalmin Gibson and Defensive Backs Coach Daronte Jones. Running back Zavier Scott, who joined Minnesota’s practice squad last year, also attended.
