ESTERO, Fla. – The North Dakota State men’s golf team wrapped up the Old Corkscrew Intercollegiate on Tuesday, finishing the two-day event hosted by Florida Gulf Coast in ninth place.
The Bison were tied for the second-best round of the day for any team, shooting a +4 round of 292 to move up one spot and finish at +38 for the event.
Rylin Petry led the way for the Bison, carding his second round of one-under-par 71 in the event, as he finished in 13th at +3 overall for the tournament. Petry finished with five birdies in the final round. He recorded 12 birdies overall in the event and also had an eagle.
Jake Skarperud was second for the Bison on the day as he shot a pair of birdies in an even par round of 72, while Josh Galvin had two birdies and an eagle as he carded a 74 in the final round. Skarperud climbed to finish in a tie for 29th in the 60-golfer field at +10. Galvin finished in 45th at +16.
Ian Simonich shot a +3 round of 75 to wrap up his tournament and cap the scoring for the Bison on the day. Simonich finished in a tie for 36th at +11. Sean Moore, playing as an individual, shot a 76 in the final round and finished in a tie for 56th at +27. Max Wilson shot 80 in his final round and finished in 58th at +28.
The Bison will wrap up the regular season next week with the Iowa hosted Hawkeye Invitational on April 13-14 at Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City, Iowa.
