The North Dakota State women’s and men’s track & field teams will send athletes to compete at a pair of meets this Friday, Apr. 4, and Saturday, Apr. 5.
A majority of the Bison athletes will compete at the UNLV Rebel Elite in Las Vegas, as NDSU makes its first appearance in the meet. The NDSU distance and mid-distance runners will race at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic in San Francisco.
Early this outdoor season, the Bison have established several performances that stand among the best in the country. Zach McGlynn leads the NCAA with his school-record 7,697 points in the decathlon, and he’s also tied for 17th nationally with his 6-11.50 (2.12m) high jump.
On the women’s side, sophomore Arienne Birch holds the second-best outdoor high jump mark in the NCAA at 6-01.25 (1.86m). Senior Grace Emineth is No. 12 in the country for the long jump with her leap of 20-07.75 (6.29m).
The Bison men and women have both won 15 Summit League outdoor team titles in 16 seasons since joining the league in 2008.
