BANDON, Ore. – North Dakota State men’s golf moved up two spots on day two of the Bandon Dunes Championship. The Bison shot +10 as a team on Monday to climb to seventh in the 16-team field at Bandon Dunes Golf Club on the Bandon Trails course.
Max Wilson and Josh Galvin led the way for NDSU in the second round, shooting +1 rounds of 72 on the 6,801-yard course. Wilson led the Bison with four birdies on the afternoon, recovering from a +4 start. Wilson was +4 after his first six holes. Following three pars, Wilson birdied four of the next seven holes, with one bogey to work up the leaderboard and finish the day up 14 spots in a tie for 16th at +6.
Galvin opened with a double bogey but answered immediately with two of his three birdies on the day. After a couple more bogeys, Galvin carded eight-straight pars before a birdie on his final hole to move up 16 spots on the day into a tie for 25th at +8.
Ian Simonich was one of three Bison to shoot +4 rounds of 75 on the day, as he dropped eight spots into a tie with Wilson in 16th at +6. Simonich had 13 pars in his round and a birdie. Rylin Petry and Jake Skarperud also shot rounds of 75. Petry had two birdies and 11 pars to climb seven spots into a tie for 47th at +12. Skarperud had one birdie and 13 pars, moving up 12 spots to 68th at +16.
Sean Moore, playing as an individual, dropped eight shots in the round with a 79, falling back to a tie for 62nd at +15.
NDSU sits in seventh overall headed into the final round at +32 for the championship. Oregon leads the event at +12, with Boise State at +18 and Seattle at +21 rounding out the top three.
The Bison will be back in action on Tuesday with the third and final round of the Bandon Dunes Championship on the Bandon Trails course. NDSU will tee off at 8:30 a.m. PT/10:30 a.m. CT for the final round.
