Report: Vikings could pursue Aaron Rodgers if Sam Darnold leaves in free agency

The Minnesota Vikings have emerged as a potential candidate for quarterback Aaron Rodgers, according to NFL insider Jordan Schultz. It was reported Saturday that Sam Darnold is not expected to re-sign with the Vikings, leaving a void at the QB position for the franchise.

Rodgers, who is 41, is coming off of a season with the New York Jets in which he threw for 3,897 yards and 28 touchdowns to 11 interceptions. But the Jets finished just 5-12 and opted to release Rodgers at the end of 2024.
