The Kingsburg Vikings football team advanced to the second round of the Division II playoffs following a 28-6 win over the No. 10 seed Redwood Rangers on Nov. 8 in Kingsburg.
The No. 7 seed Vikings will now play the No. 2 seed Golden West High on Friday, Nov. 15 in Visalia.
Kingsburg held a 21-6 halftime lead and held off Redwood to earn the win. They move to 7-4 overall.
The Vikings opened the scoring in the first quarter when Drew Lunde scored on a 19-yard touchdown run. The Vikings extended their lead to 14-0 in the second quarter following an eight-yard touchdown pass from Kade Holt to Cooper Holt. They made 21-0 later in the second quarter after a 21-yard touchdown run from Lunde.
After neither team scored in the third quarter, Kingsburg scored when Holt connected with Lunde on a 48-yard touchdown pass to make it 28-6.
Selma football
The Selma High Bears football team defeated No. 10 seed Mendota High 28-21 on Nov. 8 to advance to the second round of the Division V playoffs.
The Bears will now play No. 2 seed Woodlake High School on Friday, Nov. 15 in Woodlake.
Kingsburg water polo
The Kingsburg Vikings boys water polo teams season came to an end on Nov. 6 following a 12-10 loss to the No. 3 seed San Luis Obispo in the first round of the Division II playoffs.
Kingsburg girls water polo
The No. 10 seed Kingsburg Vikings girls water polo team fell to No. 7 seed Tulare Western High School 11-6 on Nov. 5 in the first round if the Division II playoffs.
Selma boys water polo
The Selma Bears boys water polo team put up a fight but fell to the No. 1 seed Golden West 15-10 on Nov. 6 in the first round of the Division III playoffs.
The Bears were led by Andrew Bustinza who had four goals. Abram Arcos had two goals.
