FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State wrestling will hit the road this weekend for the final time during the dual schedule, making a trip west to California for three duals in Riverside and Bakersfield. NDSU will begin the weekend at California Baptist with a Big 12 dual against the Lancers at 1:30 p.m. PT on Saturday. The Bison will then face Little Rock and Cal State Bakersfield in a triangular on Sunday beginning at 11 a.m. PT in Bakersfield.

Saturday’s dual at Cal Baptist will be streamed live on FloWrestling and on the California Baptist YouTube Channel. Sunday’s duals will be streamed through the CSU Bakersfield YouTube Channel. The Series – California Baptist
NDSU meets the Lancers for the fifth time and the third time in the Big 12. The Bison have won all four meetings, including 25-15 last season and 38-3 the last time they met in Riverside in January of 2023.
The Series – Little Rock
Sunday will be the third meeting for the Bison against Little Rock. NDSU has won both meetings, in February and December of 2022. The Bison won 33-6 in the most recent meeting, held in Little Rock.
The Series – Cal State Bakersfield
The Bison face the Roadrunners for the first time since November of 2019 and the fifth time overall. NDSU is 3-1 in series history, including the three most recent meetings. NDSU won 27-12 in their only meeting in Bakersfield in January of 2014.
In the Rankings
Gavin Drexler and Kyle Burwick appear in both the FloWrestling and InterMat rankings for the Bison, while Aidan Brenot is ranked in InterMat. Gavin Drexler is at No. 26 in Flo and No. 31 in InterMat, while Burwick is No. 33 in Flo and No. 23 in InterMat. Brenot is ranked at No. 32 in InterMat. Despite winning last week, Max Petersen fell out of the InterMat rankings from the No. 33 spot.
Burwick On Dominant Stretch
Kyle Burwick has been on a dominant stretch of late, winning six-straight Big 12 duals, including five-straight bonus point decisions prior to last week’s decision. During the winning run in Big 12 competition, the senior won four straight 15-0 shutout tech falls before a win by fall and a win by decision. In his last six Big 12 duals, Burwick is outscoring the opposition 72-6.
Petersen Settling In at 157
After starting the year 5-4 at 149 pounds, Max Petersen made the move up to 157 pounds in December and the sophomore has settled in quickly, recording 13 wins in 15 matches, including a 5-1 mark in Big 12 duals. He has scored major decision in three Big 12 duals and has five bonus-point decisions against D1 opposition since the move up.
