SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota State softball sophomore pitcher Kaitlyn Dunford has been named a Player to Watch by the Summit League ahead of the 2025 season, announced the league office Wednesday morning.
Dunford is coming off of an Honorable Mention All-Summit League campaign as a freshman. The La Crescenta, California native made 22 appearances in the circle last season with nine starts, posting a 6-5 record in 69.1 innings. She finished with a team high six wins, 3.63 era and a WHIP of 1.62. In Summit League play, Dunford posted a 1.42 era with two wins in seven appearances and three starts.
The Summit League also announced the preseason coaches poll, which has the Bison tabbed with a sixth-place finish, tied with North Dakota.
North Dakota State is set to begin the season on Friday in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, taking on #17/18 Virginia Tech and host College of Charleston.
