FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State men’s basketball team built an early 13-point lead, but South Dakota State stormed back for a 72-62 win at the Scheels Center on Thursday night.
The Bison fell to 16-7 overall and 5-3 in The Summit League. SDSU improved to 15-8 overall and 6-2 in the league.
NDSU shot 38 percent for the game and made 7-of-30 attempts (23 percent) from three-point range. SDSU shot 48 percent overall and made 9-of-29 from beyond the arc.
SDSU’s Oscar Cluff led all players with 23 points and 15 rebounds. Jacksen Moni paced the Bison with 19 points and eight boards. Tajavis Miller added 14 points and seven rebounds for NDSU.
The Bison led 21-8 just under 10 minutes into the game, but the Jackrabbits went on a 20-0 run over the next five minutes to go up 28-21.
SDSU led for the remainder of the game. When NDSU pulled within one at 35-34 two minutes into the second half, SDSU scored the next 11 points.
Thursday’s contest marked the second-lowest shooting percentage of the season for NDSU.
The Bison will play at St. Thomas on Sunday, with tip set for 3 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
