SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Freshman guard Marisa Frost has been named the Summit League Women’s Basketball Peak Performer of the Week for the first time in her career, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
Frost helped the Bison (6-3) extend their win streak to three games after picking up wins over Montana and Eastern Washington in the Big Sky-Summit Challenge. The Lino Lakes, Minn., native averaged a team-high 20.0 points per game on 75.0 percent shooting from the field, 71.4 percent from three and 84.6 percent from the free throw line. Frost also distributed a team-high six assists to go along with three steals and one block.
Frost lifted the Bison to an 83-74 win over Montana with a career-best 27 points on 7-of-8 shooting from the field. It marked the most points by a freshman in a single game in the NDSU Division I era and second-most by a freshman in Bison history. She closed the week reaching double figures in scoring for the fourth straight game 13 points off the bench in the 74-47 win at Eastern Washington.
