Atlanta Falcons at Minnesota Vikings: Key Information and First Quarter Discussion

We are just half an hour away from kickoff at U.S. Bank Stadium for this Week 14 contest between the Atlanta Falcons and our Minnesota Vikings. Here is everything you need to know to be ready for today’s contest.

Location: U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, Minnesota

Television Coverage: KMSP-9 in the Twin Cities, FOX affiliates around the country, YouTube TV NFL Sunday Ticket

Chris’ Prediction: Vikings 27, Falcons 17

Three Keys

1) Bring the heat on Kirk Cousins – Hey, have you guys heard that this is Kirk Cousins’ return to Minneapolis? As we know, Cousins wasn’t a super mobile quarterback when he was fully healthy, and it still doesn’t seem that he’s fully recovered from the Achilles injury he suffered in 2023, so he’s even less mobile now. Brian Flores is going to be bringing the heat in this one and they’ll have to get to Cousins early and often.

2) Hang on to the football – The Vikings have had early fumbles by Aaron Jones in each of the last two games, one of which came on the doorstep of a touchdown. The Vikings can’t turn the ball over a ton and expect to win football games, and whether it’s Jones or anyone else they need to keep their hands on the ball and not give the Falcons extra opportunities this afternoon.

3) Get the crowd involved – Last week, the crowd was pretty quiet early on against Arizona. The return of Kirk Cousins will hopefully be enough to get this crowd energized and cause the Falcons some issues with their cadences and other communication problems. If they can do that, it will be a huge advantage for the Vikings as they try to win their sixth in a row.

That should be everything you need to be ready for today’s game at U.S. Bank Stadium. As always, we’ll have a new discussion thread firing up at the start of each quarter, so keep your eyes open for those and keep the conversation moving accordingly.

Here’s hoping that in about three hours we’ll all be together back here to talk about how awesome it is to be 11-2.

SKOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL VIKINGS!!!!
