CHENEY, Wash. – The North Dakota State women’s basketball team rolled past Eastern Washington, 74-47, to pick up its third straight win in the Big Sky-Summit League Challenge on Saturday afternoon at Reese Court.
Avery Koenen netted a team-high 14 points with five rebounds, four steals and three blocks, while Abby Krzewinski tallied 13 points on 5-of-5 shooting from the field and 3-of-3 from three. Marisa Frost rounded out the top performers reaching double digits for the fourth straight game with 13 points and five rebounds off the bench.
As a team, the Bison (6-3) shot 54.2 percent (26-48) from the field with 10 different players in the scoring column. NDSU shot 57.9 percent from three and connected on a season-best 11 triples on 19 attempts. The Bison also hauled in a season-high 39 rebounds with Miriley Simon totaling a team-best six rebounds.
After opening up a 34-22 advantage on 50.0 percent shooting from the field in the first half, NDSU put together a 16-0 run in the third quarter to stretch its lead to 51-23 at the 4:24 mark. The run was started with a pair of free throws from Koenen and stretched over four minutes before Krzewinski capped it off with a triple. NDSU went on to close out Eastern Washington (2-7) over the final quarter to pick up the 74-47 victory.
NDSU will continue its road trip at Tulane on Tuesday. Tip-off is set for 4:00 p.m.
