KANSAS CITY, Mo. – North Dakota State soccer freshman Morgan Russmann was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-West Region Team, announced the organization. The forward was selected to the second team.
The Bettendorf, Iowa native scored 11 goals on the season, including eight goals in league play. She finished with four game-winning goals, all in league action, which helped the Bison claim the 2024 Summit League Regular Season Championship. Russmann also had three assists, totaling 25 points on the season.
Russmann became the first freshman in Summit League history to win a player of the year award. She was also the first player in league history to win a player of the year award, along with Newcomer of the Year award. She also racked up first team all-league honors and all-newcomer team honors.
She is the first Bison since Paige Goaley (2022) to receive United Soccer Coaches All-Region accolades and the fourth overall in the Division I era, including Lauren Miller and Amy Yang in 2015. Russmann is also the highest all-region selection in the Division I era for NDSU, with all three previous selections being to the third team.
