NDSU Softball Adds Zimmerman to Signees

FARGO, N.D – North Dakota State softball and head coach Darren Mueller announced the addition of Morgan Zimmerman to the signee class on Monday, with the incoming freshman set to join the Bison from Long Beach, California.

Zimmerman joins the Bison from Millikan High School in Long Beach, California. The corner infielder/outfielder has hit .399 over her last two seasons at Millikan, helping lead the program to three-consecutive Moore League championships. She earned All-Moore League honors as a junior with 13 stolen bases and 34 runs scored. She has had just two strikeouts over the last two seasons, with a .570 on base percentage and a 1.259 OPS. In her most recent travel ball season with Explosion Premier, Zimmerman his .411 in 63 games with a .609 slugging percentage, three home runs, 29 RBI, 40 runs scored, seven stolen bases and a 1.067 OPS. Her mother, Jennifer, played collegiate volleyball at Villanova and her aunt, Margot, played collegiate volleyball at Auburn. She has earned a 4.0 GPA ever semester at Millikan.
 
Zimmerman becomes the fourth signee for the Bison softball program, joining Jocelyn McClary, Ellie Peterson and Cadey Shipman, who signed on national signing day on November 13.
