NDSU Soccer Begins Trip West at Idaho State on Thursday

FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State will remain on the road in week two of the regular season, heading west and beginning the week in Idaho with a clash against Idaho State in Pocatello, Idaho on Thursday, August 21. The Bison will take on the Bengals at Davis Field with kickoff set for 8 p.m. CT/7 p.m. MT.
 
Game Coverage
Thursday’s game at Idaho State will be streamed live on ESPN+. The contest between the Bison and Bengals will also have live statistics. Links to live video and stats are available at GoBison.com/coverage.
 
Series History
The Bison will face the Bengals for just the third time in series history. Idaho State picked up the win in overtime in the first-ever meeting, claiming a 3-2 win at the Boise State Holiday Inn Classic on August 17, 2012. The two teams met last season, playing out a scoreless draw in Fargo on September 8.

Last Time vs Idaho State
The Bison produced several scoring chances in a 0-0 draw against Idaho State. Olivia Lovick scored a second half goal for the Bison that was called back for offsides in the best opportunity for either team. Olivia Watson and Ava Stanchina also had shots hit off the post for NDSU in the second half.
 
Payton Mulberry picked up a cleansheet with five saves in the contest, including two diving saves in the first half, during Idaho State’s main threatening offensive push in the contest. NDSU outnumbered the Bengals 16-9 in shots on the afternoon.
 
Wisconsin Trip Recap
The Bison opened the season with a 3-1 win at Green Bay. Kendall Stadden broke a scoreless tie early in the 55th minute and Isabel Garcia doubled the lead just three minutes later. Hannah Arnold capped the NDSU scoring in the 80th minute. Green Bay added a late tally in the 88th minute to prevent the shutout.
 
In game two of the trip to Wisconsin, the Bison fell at Marquette 2-0. Morgan Russmann nearly gave the Bison the lead in the 28th minute, buzzing the cross bar. The hosts took the lead just before half time. The Bison looked to have equalized with a goal from Tyreese Zacher on a corner kick in the second half, but the goal was called back for a foul away from the ball. Marquette added a late goal on a counter attack to close out the scoring.
 
Looking Ahead
The Bison will wrap up the four-game road swing to begin the regular season with a trip to Ogden, Utah to take on Weber State on Sunday, August 24. The Bison will take on the Wildcats with kickoff set for 12:30 p.m. CT/11:30 a.m. MT at Wildcat Soccer Field.
