A fraud scheme aimed at Minnesota Vikings linebacker Dallas Turner has cost the former Alabama All-American around $240,000, the Minnesota Star Tribune reported on Tuesday.
Sgt. Rich Evans of the Eagan (Minnesota) Police Department said an investigation had identified “several suspects,” but less than $2,500 of the stolen money had been recovered, Paul Walsh of the Star Tribune reported.
Citing a search warrant affidavit filed in Dakota County (Minnesota) District Court that allowed investigators to assess financial records at the Eagan branch of JP Morgan Chase Bank, Walsh reported Turner received a call on Feb. 19 from a JP Morgan Chase banker about someone impersonating the linebacker at a bank branch in Arizona. But the imposter was the caller, who directed Turner to transfer money to two business accounts to prevent the attempted theft of funds.
At the bank branch in Eagan, Turner transferred $120,000 to Island Food Truck LLC and $120,000 to CNL FL LLC that day before becoming suspicious.
The 17th player picked in the 2024 NFL Draft, Turner signed a four-year contract with Minnesota that included an $8.287 million signing bonus and a base salary of $795,000 in the 2024 season.

In his first NFL season, Turner had 20 tackles, three sacks, three tackles for loss, five quarterback hits and one interception. He played 300 of the Vikings’ 1,135 defensive snaps behind Pro Bowl outside linebackers Jonathan Greenard and Andrew Van Ginkle in 2024.
Minesota’s veteran players report for training camp on July 22. The Vikings kick off their preseason schedule on Aug. 9 against the Houston Texans.
