FARGO, N.D. – A pair of former North Dakota State men’s basketball players took the next step in their professional careers on Thursday night, coming to agreements with NBA teams.
Grant Nelson (2020-23) signed an Exhibit-10 contract with the Brooklyn Nets to compete in training camp for a two-way roster spot. In 2023, Nelson led NDSU in points (19.9 ppg), rebounds (9.8 rpg), assists (2.4 apg), blocks (1.7 bpg) and steals (1.1 spg) – both for Summit League play, and for the entire season.
Jacksen Moni (2024-25) announced he will join the San Antonio Spurs for the 2025 NBA Summer League. He finished seventh in the NCAA for scoring this season with 20.6 points per game, earning NABC All-District and All-Summit League first team honors. Moni was the only player to rank in the league’s top six for points, rebounds, assists and field goal percentage.
Moni and Nelson are ultimately vying to become the first Bison to play in an NBA regular season game.
