SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – For the second straight season, junior Madi Hicks has been named to the Academic All-Summit League Women’s Golf Team, the league office announced on Thursday morning.
Hicks boasts a 4.0 grade-point average in management information systems. The Victoria, Minn., native registered a 74.96 scoring average over 26 total rounds. Hicks contributed a career-best six top-10 finishes, including a team-best four inside of the top five. She closed the season with the highest finish for a Bison at the Summit League Championship since 2018 in a tie for third place after carding a 54-hole total of 216. Hicks was also one of seven players named to the Summit League All-Tournament Team.
Student-athletes are nominated by their respective sports information directors (SIDs) and then voted on by a panel composed of faculty athletics representatives from each university and SIDs.
In order to be considered for the academic all-league golf team, a student-athlete: must have at least a 3.3 cumulative career grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale); must have completed at least one full academic year (two semesters, three quarters) at the current institution; and must have participated in 50 percent of their team’s completed competitions.
