SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota State University track & field athletes Brooks Turner and Arienne Birch were named Kwik Star Summit League Track & Field Peak Performers of the Week, the league announced Tuesday.
Turner set the NDSU school record in the 110-meter hurdles at the NDSU Tune-Up, running a career-best 13.65. The redshirt freshman leads The Summit League and now ranks 38th in the NCAA this season. The Bismarck, N.D., native also ran on the shuttle hurdle relay that broke the school record, finishing in 56.51.
Birch claimed the high jump title at the NDSU Tune-Up with a leap of 5-11.50 – her second-best mark of the season. The Bison sophomore ranks first in The Summit League and seventh in the NCAA this year.
