Bison Men Break Pair of Hurdles Records


FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State men’s track & field team hosted the NDSU Tune-Up on Friday for the final regular season meet of the 2025 outdoor season. The meet was highlighted by a pair of school records for the Bison men in the hurdle events.
 
Redshirt freshman Brooks Turner (13.65) and sophomore Blake Nyenati (13.67) both broke the previous NDSU record of 13.78 in the 110m hurdles. Both athletes also bettered the facility record and moved into the NCAA Top 50 this season.
 
Senior Brock Johnsen ran a career-best 13.79 in the 110m hurdles to rank fourth in NDSU history.
 
Later in the meet, Johnsen, Turner, Trey Heinrich and Nyenati teamed up to set a new school record in the 4x110m shuttle hurdle relay, winning in 56.51.
 
Senior thrower Zack Ramos won the shot put with a season-best mark of 60-6 (18.44m) to rank ninth in NDSU outdoor history.
 
Freshman Reece Grosserode jumped 49-05.50 (15.07m) to claim the triple jump title.
 
Jayden Murdock won the 200m dash in a personal-best 21.28, ranking 10th in NDSU history.
 
Andrew Berg cleared an outdoor PR of 6-9 (2.06m) to win the high jump. Jayden Williams won the long jump with a wind-aided 23-08.75 (7.23m).
 
Kaden Pastian won the hammer throw with a season-best mark of 192-4 (58.63m).
 
The Bison will compete at the Summit League Outdoor Championships in Vermillion, S.D., on May 15-17.
