The Course
Originally designed in 1904 by professional golfer and course architect Herbert Strong, the Metropolis Country Club is located in the suburbs of New York City. The country club underwent significant restorations in 2013 to lengthen most of the holes and introduce forward tees to the course. In addition to the course restorations, the club added over 30 acres of native shrubbery to enhance the 1900s soul of the course.
The par-70, 6,878-yard course features uneven lies, canted fairways, and undulating greens. Metropolis Country Club was a host site for one of the 2024 U.S. Senior Open qualifiers.
