BISMARCK, N.D. – Senior Jacob Knodle captured the individual crown to lead the North Dakota State men’s cross country team to the team title at the season-opening Marauders Invite on Friday afternoon in Bismarck.
The Bison men won the meet with 21 points.
Knodle (West Fargo Sheyenne HS) clocked 25:02.4 for the eight-kilometer race at McDowell Dam Recreation Area, winning by a seven-second margin. NDSU sophomore Ivan Askim finished third in 25:12.1, and sophomore Carl Rekow took fourth in 25:24.9.
Will Gerber placed sixth for the Bison in 25:29.9, and Quinn Roehl completed NDSU’s team scoring in seventh place with a personal-best time of 25:34.9.
Regan Bosch (25:47), Brady Goss (25:54), and Ethan Moe (25:56) finished ninth, 10th and 11th for NDSU.
The individual title was the first of Knodle’s collegiate career.
The Bison will compete next at the Roy Griak Invitational hosted by Minnesota on Sept. 19.
