NDSU Soccer Blanks MSUM on Senior Day

FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State soccer picked up a 1-0 victory over Minnesota State-Moorhead Sunday afternoon on Senior Day at Dacotah Field.
 
Junior transfer Cora Still scored her first goal for the Bison to put NDSU in front in the 49^th minute. Senior Maeva Lichtensteiger sent a corner kick into the box and Still headed the ball back across goal and in for the game’s only goal.
 
Still, who scored four times for Scottsdale Community College over two seasons, gets her first career NCAA goal. Still is also the ninth different goal scorer for the Bison this season. Lichtensteiger picked up her second assist of the week, both coming on corner kicks.
 
North Dakota State outnumbered the Dragons 38-1 in shots for the game, including 17-0 in shots on target. Twice NDSU had shots saved onto the post and crossbar in the game. NDSU finished with 10 corner kicks to zero for the Dragons.
 
NDSU and goalkeeper Hannah Stipp also picked up back-to-back cleansheets in the win. It is the first time NDSU has had back-to-back cleansheets since August 27 last season with a 3-0 win over Alabama State and a 1-0 win at Hawaii Pacific.
 
Stipp is the first Bison goalkeeper to record back-to-back cleansheets since Aly Cole against Kansas City (2-0) and Western Illinois (1-0) in February of 2021.
 
The Bison will continue their four-game stretch at home with game three on Thursday, September 4, as NDSU welcomes in Clarke. Kickoff between the Bison and Pride is set for 6 p.m. at Dacotah Field.
