Kate Childers scored in the 86th minute to lift Minnesota to a 4-3 win over Marquette on Thursday afternoon in front of 405 fans at Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium.
The Golden Gophers (3-1-0, 0-0-0 B1G) picked up the nonconference win over the Golden Eagles (3-2-0, 0-0-0 BIG EAST) behind a strong offensive showing led by Paige Kalal, who finished with three points on a goal and an assist.
Minnesota also got goals from Freya Jupp, Davy Mokelke and Childers, while Katie Krohn tallied two assists and Mariah Nguyen added another. The Gophers held an edge in shots, 14-13.
