Vikings Sign OLB Cam Gill & LB Max Tooley

EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings on Wednesday announced the signings of outside linebacker Cam Gill and linebacker Max Tooley ahead of hosting the Patriots in the first of two joint practices.

Listed at 6-foot-3 and 240 pounds, Gill entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers following the 2020 NFL Draft out of Wagner. He played in 40 regular-season games for the Bucs from 2020-23, totaling 29 tackles, 2.5 sacks and four QB hits. Gill played in eight playoff games for Tampa Bay, including Super Bowl LV when he recorded two tackles and split a sack on just three defensive snaps.

In 2024, Gill played 10 games for the Panthers. He spent the offseason in Carolina and then a stint on Detroit’s practice squad before returning to the Panthers. He recorded 22 tackles and four QB hits last season.

Tooley is returning to Minnesota for his second stint with the team. He originally signed to the Vikings practice squad in September of 2024. Tooley, who first entered the NFL with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent following the 2024 NFL Draft out of BYU, played six seasons with the Cougars, starting 31 of 60 games played. He was with Minnesota earlier this offseason before he was waived on July 30.
