That’s Wild
It’s the dead of summer which means one thing: Lists. Whether it is rankings of players, teams, or how cool their jersey looks, lists will be written to pass the time until we get to watch hockey again.
The latest list comes from Daily Faceoff’s Steven Ellis, where the draft expert breaks down the Minnesota Wild’s top 10 prospects. And honestly, the prospect pool looks even better listed out like this. Many teams would love to have a prospect like Charlie Stramel and here is ranked as the Wild’s eighth-best prospect.
The top five prospects are predictable, but it is nice to see some real, solid pieces even in the honorable mentions. Read the full list here.
- One prospect that wasn’t featured in the top 10 is recent fourth-round selection Lirim Amidovski, but he was just recently described as a “heat-seeking missile”. [Hockey Wilderness]
- One NHL analyst is projecting Kirill Kaprizov’s contract to be upwards of $120 million in total value. [Sporting News]
Off the trail…
- We already talked about the love for lists at this time of year. So, here’s another one. A late-July power ranking, looking at all 32 team’s storylines this summer. [ESPN]
- We all hope Alex Ovechkin can stay in the NHL for as long as possible, and one of his teammates is right there with us. [NHL.com]
- Another list! It’s re-drafting the 2022 NHL Draft despite most of these players having just played their rookie season, if anything. [The Athletic]
