INDIANAPOLIS – The North Dakota State baseball team will face Arkansas in the opening round of the NCAA Regional in Fayetteville, Ark., on Friday. Kansas and Creighton will also face each other at the regional site.
The Bison (20-32) earned the fourth-seed in the regional, while Arkansas, who is also the No. 3 national seed, is the host and top seed at the regional. Kansas is the second seed and Creighton is the third seed. First pitch between the Bison and Razorbacks is set for 2 p.m. CT on Friday at Baum-Walker Stadium. Both games in the opening round of the regional will be available on ESPN+ for subscribers.
The Bison won the Summit League Tournament for the third time in program history and first time since 2021 after upending top-seeded Oral Roberts on Saturday. NDSU enters the NCAA Tournament with the No. 1 non-conference strength of schedule in the country and No. 77 overall strength of schedule. The Bison have also been ranked as high as No. 22 in the RPI this season.
NDSU will return to the NCAA Tournament for the third time in the Division I era. In their last appearance in 2021, the Bison traveled to Stanford in Stanford, Calif., and faced Stanford, Nevada and UC Irvine. NDSU topped Nevada, 6-1, in an elimination game to earn its first NCAA Regional victory in the Division I era.
