SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota State men’s golf had four student-athletes selected to the 2025 Men’s Golf Academic All-Summit League team, announced the league office Thursday morning.
Rylin Petry, who was named the 2025 Men’s Golf Scholar of the Championship presented by JLG Architects, leads the group of four Bison to receive Academic All-League honors for their academics in the classroom and performances on the course during the 2024-25 golf season.
Josh Galvin, Ian Simonich and Max Wilson join Petry on the team, with each of the four Bison claiming the accolade for the first time. It is the most Bison to make the academic all-league team in program history, with the previous high being two on two different occasions.
Petry was named to the All-Summit League First Team this season, while Simonich garnered Second Team honors for their performances on the course. Petry had five top 10s and a 72.6 scoring average, while Simonich had a 73.0 scoring average and had a win and three top 10s.
Galvin, like Petry and Simonich, played every round this season for the Bison and was a scoring golfer consistently for NDSU, posting a 73.94 scoring average with three top 10 finishes.
Wilson was one of two 4.0 GPAs to make the all-academic team and was a key member of the NDSU lineup in 2025, including in the Summit League Championship second-place finish for the Bison.
To be eligible for the Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of his team’s competitions.
Nominations are brought forth by sports information directors from the league’s eleven institutions and voting is conducted by both the SIDs and facility athletic representatives (FARs). The team is made up of the five student-athletes receiving the most votes with all ties standing.
