Junior Easton Richter put together a stellar showing at the plate Friday, hitting two home runs to help lead the Minnesota Golden Gophers past the Michigan State Spartans 11-5.
Sophomore Kyle Remington (2-6) got the win for Minnesota (24-27, 10-19). The right-hander went 5.1 innings, giving up one run on seven hits, allowing one walk and striking out two.
Richter went 2-for-4 at the plate, supplementing his two home runs with five RBIs. Sophomore Charlie Sutherland added to Richter’s awesome power-hitting performance by going 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs along with one walk. Freshman Jameson Martin also helped out for the Golden Gophers, going 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs.
