NDSU Baseball Falls at St. Thomas, 3-1

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The North Dakota State baseball team came up short at St. Thomas, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon at Koch Diamond.

The Tommies (26-20, 18-8 Summit) grabbed an early 2-0 lead in the second inning after Joe Vos connected on an RBI single and later scored on a passed ball. St. Thomas extended its lead to 3-0 in the third inning following an RBI double off the bat of Ben Vujovich. The two teams then battled through four scoreless innings before Colten Becker responded for the Bison (16-30, 12-14 Summit) with a two-out RBI single into center field in the eighth. However, St. Thomas held off NDSU the rest of the way for the 3-1 victory.

Logan Knight (3-6) made the start on the mound tossing four strikeouts over 5.0 frames. Landon Koenig also added three strikeouts over 1.2 innings, while Alex Karns finished out the final 1.1 scoreless innings in relief.

NDSU will conclude its series at St. Thomas tomorrow. First pitch is set for 1:00 p.m.
