ST. PAUL, Minn. – North Dakota State softball dropped the final game of the regular season on Saturday, falling to Summit League Regular Season Champions St. Thomas, 9-0, at South Field.
The Bison put two on in the first, starting with a triple from Chloe Woldruff, but the Bison were unable to get a run across. St. Thomas would take the lead with a run in the bottom of the first. Jasmyn Yessian would then lead off the second with a double, but the Bison would not get another runner into scoring position.
After a scoreless second, St. Thomas scored three in the third and then added five in the fourth to secure a run-rule victory.
Zoe King finished with the only other hit for the Bison. Savy Williams picked up the loss, allowing eight runs in 3.1 innings.
With the loss, the Bison will be the No. 5 seed in the Summit League Softball Tournament, hosted in Brookings beginning on Wednesday. The Bison will play either South Dakota or North Dakota to start off the tournament Wednesday afternoon. A full bracket will be announced later on Saturday.
