FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State softball fell to South Dakota 5-2 Sunday afternoon at Tharaldson Park to wrap up the Summit League series and the home schedule for the Bison in 2025.

NDSU took an early lead, as Bella Dean picked up her fourth and fifth RBIs of the series with a two-RBI double to left field, scoring Chloe Woldruff and Amai Hanta.

Savy Williams would hold South Dakota scoreless through the first 4.1 innings, reaching a new career long scoreless inning streak for the senior at 15.2 innings. However, South Dakota would score three runs, one unearned due to an error in the fifth inning to take the lead.

South Dakota would capitalize on another Bison error and add two more unearned runs in the seventh inning to extend the lead and the Bison were unable to recover, finishing with five left on in the game.

Woldruff recorded her 100th career hit in the game, while Hanta, Dean, Rylee Henderson and Ella Claus had the five hits for NDSU. Williams picked up the loss, allowing five runs, two earned, in a complete game with two strikeouts.

NDSU will return to action on Friday at St. Thomas, beginning a three-game series on Friday and Saturday to close out the regular season.
