Son of Roy-Hart grad is drafted by Vikings

Gavin Bartholomew, the son of 1993 Roy-Hart graduate Eric Bartholomew, was selected in the sixth round of the NFL draft by the Minnesota Vikings on Saturday.

Gavin, a 6-5, 246 lb. tight end, started all 13 games for the University of Pittsburgh last fall. He had 28 catches for 322 yards and 4 touchdown.

Over his four year career with the Panthers he played in 50 games and had 105 catches for 1,257 yards and 11 touchdowns.

He earned All Atlantic Coast Conference Honorable Mention this past fall.

Gavin played his high school football in Pennsylvania.

His father Eric was a three sport starter for Roy-Hart competing in football, basketball and baseball.

He earned first team All Division honors in football his senior year as he helped the Rams win a division title and compile an 8-0 regular season record.
