NDSU Track & Field Returns Home for Bison Open Thursday & Friday


The North Dakota State track & field teams will host the Bison Open this Thursday, Apr. 24, and Friday, Apr. 25, at the Terrence Dahl and Donna Beres Track Complex on the NDSU campus.
 
The meet will begin with the hammer throw and heptathlon both at 1 p.m. on Thursday, with all other events scheduled for Friday.
 
On Friday, the heptathlon will resume at 10:30 a.m. Field events start at Noon with the javelin and 1 p.m. with the long jump and pole vault. Running events are scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. on Friday.
 
This will be the second of three home outdoor meets for the Bison this season.
 
Sophomore Arienne Birch (5th in high jump) and junior Zach McGlynn (5th in decathlon) continue to be the highest ranked Bison on the NCAA performance lists this season. Senior Grace Emineth currently stands at No. 17 nationally in the long jump.
 
Other NDSU athletes ranked in the NCAA Top 50 this season include Adam Dugger at No. 40 in the triple jump and Sam Roller at No. 45 in the javelin.
 

Event Squad Rankings

 
In the latest Event Squad Rankings from the USTFCCCA, the Bison men are No. 2 nationally in the triple jump and No. 10 in the 110m hurdles.
 
The NDSU women are No. 6 in the triple jump, No. 9 in the long jump, and No. 9 in the high jump in this week’s Event Squad Rankings.
 
The Event Squad Rankings rank every Division I team within each single event, averaging the best performances from the top four athletes at each school in each event.
