1500m Runners Stand Out for NDSU at Bryan Clay Invitational


AZUSA, Calif. – Strong performances in the 1500 meters headlined the second day of competition for the North Dakota State women’s track & field team in southern California on Friday.
 
At the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, seniors Reagan Baesler (4:22.19) and Grace Link (4:22.55) both recorded 1500m career-bests. They now rank sixth and seventh in NDSU history.
 
Freshman Mia Hoffmann added a personal-best 4:39.46 in the 1500m at the Bryan Clay Invitational, taking second place in her section.
 
NDSU’s Kaci Cooper ran a personal-best 59.83 in the 400m hurdles for fourth place in the meet. She becomes just the eighth Bison woman to go sub-60 in the event.
 
At the Beach Invitational in Long Beach, Calif., Adison Kapitzke set another personal-best in the hammer with a throw of 187-7 (57.19m). Annabel Thorstenson threw 183-8 (56.00m) for the third-best mark of her career.
 
Alex Seagris took fifth in the javelin with a throw of 146-0 (44.51m).
 
Competition at the Beach Invitational will continue and conclude on Saturday.
