FARGO, N.D. – The North Dakota State men’s track & field team hosted the NDSU Spring Classic on Friday for the first of three home meets scheduled for the outdoor season.
Redshirt freshman Brooks Turner ran the second-fastest 110m hurdles time in NDSU history, winning in 13.86. Brock Johnsen was the runner-up in 14.18, and Trey Heinrich took fourth in 14.31.
Zach McGlynn set a long jump career-best of 24-09.00 (7.54m), winning the event and ranking seventh in NDSU outdoor history.
Senior Hunter Merkley posted a career-best mark of 24-05.00 (7.44m) to take second place in the long jump. He is now tied for 10th all-time at NDSU.
Turner, Jayden Murdock, Jayden Williams and Tyler Milkes won the 4x100m relay in a season-best 41.25.
Sophomore Jack Packer won the hammer throw with a personal-best 185-7 (56.57m). Zack Ramos took the shot put title at 57-08.50 (17.59m).
Jonah Dafoe won the 800m in 1:55.33.
Freshman Aiden Krause threw a season-best 165-4 (50.39m) in the discus for second place.
