FARGO, N.D. – Senior Elise Hoven earned her third career win as the North Dakota State women’s golf team closed out regular season play with a second-place finish at the Stampede at the Creek on Tuesday afternoon at Indian Creek Golf Course.
Hoven (76-74-75–225) was even on 12 holes with two birdies in the final round to finish +3 in the win. It marked her third career win and second win this season after she finished tied for first place at the NDSU Invitational on Sept. 4. Madi Hicks (77-75-75–227) finished two spots back to earn her third top five finish of the season tied for third place. Hicks was even on 11 holes with two birdies in the final round.
Cora Larson (79-76-80–235) came in just outside of the top 10 tied for 11th place, while Hannah Dunk (77-79-81–237) finished tied for 16th place. Norah Roberts (83-81-75–239) climbed up 10 spots on the leaderboard tied for 24th place and Avery Bartels (85-80-84–249) closed out the group tied for 34th place.
Jo Baranczyk (80-82-76–238) was the top individual finisher after she finished tied for 20th place. She closed the day with a season-low 76 (+4) after being even on 13 holes with one birdie. Lily Vincelli (80-78-81–239) also competed as an individual and finished tied for 24th place.
As a team, the Bison put together rounds of 309, 304 and 305 for a three-round total of 918 to finish in second place in the seven-team tournament. South Dakota (306-309-299–914) won the tournament, while Omaha (319-309-300–928) picked up the third-place finish.
NDSU will be back in action at the Summit League Championship in Mesa, Ariz., on April 20-22.
