Moe Paces NDSU Men at Mike Fanelli Track Classic


The North Dakota State men’s track & field team opened competition at a pair of meets on Friday, competing at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic in San Francisco and the UNLV Rebel Elite in Las Vegas.
 
In San Francisco, Bison sophomore Ethan Moe set a new personal-best of 3:45.39 in the 1500m, taking third place in the meet and ranking third in NDSU history.
 
Senior Hunter Klimek ran a personal-best 14:26.13 in the 5,000m to move up to No. 9 in NDSU history.
 
Jacob Knodle clocked 14:28.35 in the 5,000m for the third-fastest time of his career. Tyson Mahar ran an outdoor personal-best of 14:34.66.
 
Will Gerber clocked 3:54.99 in the 1500m for the second-fastest time of his career.
 
At the UNLV Rebel Elite in Las Vegas, Zack Ramos placed third in the shot put with a throw of 57-10.25 (17.63m). Sophomore Jack Packer posted an outdoor personal-best of 53-03.75 (16.25m).
 
NDSU senior Hunter Merkley took seventh in the long jump at UNLV with a mark of 23-08.75 (7.23m).
 
Competition will continue at both meets on Saturday.
