Seniors Grace Emineth and Reagan Baesler headlined the performances of the North Dakota State women’s track & field team at a pair of meets on Friday.
At the UNLV Rebel Elite in Las Vegas, Emineth recorded a career-best 20-10.50 (6.36m) to win the long jump, ranking her second in NDSU history. She stands among the Top 10 in the NCAA this season.
In San Francisco at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic, Baesler ran a personal-best 16:32.37 in the 5,000m, moving up to No. 5 on the NDSU all-time list. She doubled back for a personal-best in the 1500m, clocking 4:23.65 to move up to seventh in NDSU history.
Also at the Mike Fanelli Track Classic, Bison senior Grace Link ran a personal-best 4:24.42 in the 1500m, ranking eighth all-time at NDSU. Freshman Jaelyn Miller ran a 1500m PR of 4:28.97 to rank 11th in school history, and Reagan Berg posted a PR of 4:30.65.
Bison freshmen Mia Hoffmann (16:59.42) and Jenna DeBates (17:03.58) posted strong outdoor 5,000m debuts.
Sophomore Ella Gardner posted an outdoor long jump personal-best of 19-11.00 (6.07m) for second place at UNLV. She is now tied for ninth in NDSU history. Freshman Nyariek Kur placed fifth in the long jump with a mark of 19-03.25 (5.87m).
The NDSU women placed 3-4-5 in the hammer throw at UNLV, with each of the Bison recording personal bests. Merrideth Spiers was third at 184-8 (56.29m), Annabel Thorstenson took fourth at 184-5 (56.23m), and Adison Kapitzke finished fifth with a mark of 181-2 (55.22m).
Kapitzke also registered an outdoor personal-best of 48-06.75 (14.80m) in the shot put for fourth place.
Competition will continue at both meets on Saturday.
