NDSU Wrestling Places Seven on NWCA Scholar All-American List

MANHEIM, Penn. – North Dakota State wrestling had seven student-athletes named to the National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar All-America Team, announced the organization on Wednesday.

NCAA Championship qualifiers Kyle Burwick, Tristan Daugherty and Gavin Drexler were named to the list, alongside Boeden Greenley, Shilo Jones, Peyton Moore and two-time recipient Max Petersen.

To earn Scholar All-American honors, student-athletes must excel both on the mat and in the classroom, meeting one of the following criteria:

  • Earn NCAA All-American honors and hold a 3.00 GPA,
  • Be an NCAA National Qualifier and hold a 3.2 GPA,
  • Be a conference qualifier and hold a 3.5 GPA,
  • Or hold at least a 60 percent win record (min. 15 matches) and hold a 3.5 GPA.

The seven recipients by NDSU sets a new program record for NWCA Scholar All-American honors, topping six in 2022. NDSU now has 50 NWCA Scholar All-Americans since joining Division I in 2004-05.
