NDSU Women’s Golf Sits Mid Pack After First Day of the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic

MARICOPA, Ariz. – Sophomore Norah Roberts is positioned inside the top 10 as the North Dakota State women’s golf team sits in eighth place after the first two rounds of the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic on Wednesday.

Roberts (75-72—147) is +3 on the day after notching an even par in the second round.  Firing three birdies in the first round and another three in the second round, Roberts sits in a tie for sixth in the 91-golfer field entering the final round.

Elise Hoven (78-77—155) is the second highest Bison after day one. After sinking three of her own birdies, Hoven is tied for 35th place at +11 after the first 36 holes. Cora Larson (81-76 – 157) is just behind at +13 in a tie for 41st place.  Hannah Dunk (78-80—158) sits just a stroke back at +14 in a tie for 44th place.

Madi Hicks (80-79—159) is tied for 52nd place at +15, while Avery Bartels (78-81—159), who is playing as an individual, is also tied for 52nd place.

As a collective, the Bison (311-304—615) sit in eighth place in the 15-team field with a score of +39 going into the final round. Iowa State (291-297—588) currently leads the tournament at +12, with UNLV (302-287—589) in second and Grand Canyon (300-296—596) rounding out the top three.

The Bison will conclude the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic tomorrow, with the final round starting at 7:30 a.m. MT/9:30 a.m. CT.
