Rylee Johnson Top Bison on Day One of Aztec Invitational Heptathlon

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Freshman Rylee Johnson posted the top score of the four Bison women competing in the opening day of the Aztec Invitational heptathlon Thursday.
 
Johnson (Detroit Lakes, Minn.) scored 2,803 points through the four events contested on Thursday to stand in fourth place overall.
 
NDSU freshman Paige Halder (Byron, Minn.) is fifth in the heptathlon standings with 2,717 points, and sophomore Ashley Kimman stands sixth with 2,685.
 
Johnson opened with strong performances of 14.51 in the 100m hurdles and 5-02.50 (1.59m) in the high jump. Halder also cleared 5-02.50 (1.59m) in the high jump and clocked 26.19 in the 200m dash.
 
Heptathlon competition will resume at Noon CT / 10 a.m. PT on Friday.
