Emineth, Thorstenson Win Events at UTSA to Open Outdoor Season


SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The North Dakota State women’s track & field team opened the outdoor season on Friday, competing at the UTSA Invitational.
 
Senior Grace Emineth won the long jump with a career-best leap of 20-07.75 (6.29m), moving up to third-best in NDSU outdoor history. Ella Gardner posted an outdoor PR of 19-06.75 (5.96m) to place fourth in the long jump.
 
Annabel Thorstenson won the hammer throw, throwing 183-2 (55.83m). Adison Kapitzke placed third with a personal-best mark of 173-10 (52.98m).
 
Junior Alex Seagris threw 149-9 (45.64m) for second place in the javelin, and sophomore Camille Deringer took fifth at 129-3 (39.40m).
 
Kapitzke took fourth in the shot put, throwing an outdoor personal-best of 47-09.25 (14.56m).
 
Competition will continue on Saturday at UTSA.
