The Course
Located in sunny La Jolla, California, the world-famous Torrey Pines Golf Course is home to a 36-hole circuit that is divided between an 18-hole North Course and an 18-hole South Course. The 2025 UC San Diego Invitational will be played on the Torrey Pines South Course. Home of the 2008 and 2021 U.S. Open Championships, the Torrey Pines South Course is the more challenging of the two courses featured on the property. Originally designed by William Bell, Sr. in 1957, the South course was renovated and reimagined by Rees Jones in 2001 and once again in 2019. Compared to the North Course, the South Course is longer and features more difficult play, as the South Course is a par 72 with a yardage of 7,802 and holds a rating of 78.8 with a slope of 148. The “Old” South Course record was set in 1999 by Tiger Woods, who recorded a score of 62 after firing eight birdies and one eagle. Greg Chalmers holds the “New” course record after recording a score of 63 from ten birdies and one bogey, which was set in 2002.
