NDSU Softball Drops Battle at Southeastern Louisiana

HAMMOND, La. – North Dakota State softball fell to Southeastern Louisiana in a pitchers’ duel Tuesday night, falling 3-1 at One Oak Park.

The Bison and Lady Lions played out a scoreless battle into the sixth inning before the Bison finally broke the deadlock. Amai Hanta hit a one-out triple and eventually scored on a ball in play by Zoe King that led to an error and allowed Hanta to score.

Southeastern Louisiana would respond immediately scoring a run on an RBI triple to tie the game, before a two-run home run gave the Lady Lions a 3-1 lead.

Rylee Henderson and Chloe Woldruff joined Hanta with hits in the game. Woldruff had two singles and extended her hit streak to 10 games and reached base streak to 12. Addie Bowers picked up the loss, allowing three runs in 5.1 innings of work. She allowed seven hits and had one strikeout.

The Bison will return to action on Thursday with the first game of the Rebel Invitational hosted by Ole Miss. The Bison will face Samford Thursday evening at 6 p.m. in Oxford, Mississippi.
