SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota State’s Sydney Arndt and Arienne Birch were honored as the Kwik Star Summit League Women’s Indoor Track & Field Peak Performers of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
Arndt crossed the finish line in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.32 seconds at the UND Tune-Up. The Bison junior placed first in the event, improving her personal-best and putting her at No. 60 on the NCAA performance list this season. The Fond du Lac, Wis., native moved to third place on the NDSU all-time list.
Birch won the high jump for the Bison with a leap of 5-09.25 (1.76m) at the UND Tune-Up. The sophomore broke away from a three-way tie atop the Summit League performance list to take control of first place heading into the indoor championship. The Mississauga, Ontario, native is tied for 60th in the NCAA this season.
