Highlights: #4 Gopher Women's Hockey Downs #6 UMD, 3-2



The fourth-ranked University of Minnesota women’s hockey team clinched their third win over No. 6 Minnesota Duluth this season after a 3-2 home victory on Friday night.

The ‘U’ moves to a 24-9-1 (18-8-1 WCHA) record heading into the final game of the season.

Sophomore Emma Kreisz got the Gophers on the board first, finding the back of the net for the seventh time this season, assisted by Ava Lindsay and Peyton Hemp, with 5:08 remaining in the opening period. The Bulldogs struck back with an Olivia Wallin score two minutes later. The score remained 1-1 heading into intermission. Minnesota successfully killed the only penalty of the period, while Minnesota Duluth led 9-6 in shots on goal.
