FARGO, N.D. – Jacksen Moni scored 32 points and Jacari White added 30 to lift the North Dakota State men’s basketball team to a 94-88 overtime victory against Oral Roberts on Thursday night inside the Scheels Center.
NDSU improved to 18-9 overall and 7-5 in The Summit League.
The duo of Moni and White also achieved a pair of career milestones in the contest. Moni surpassed 2,000 career points, and White passed the 1,000-point mark – with both occurring in the second half.
The Bison shot 54 percent for the game but only made 9-of-27 from three-point range. ORU shot 42 percent overall and made 13-of-24 (54 percent) from beyond the arc.
NDSU built a five-point lead at 77-72 with five minutes remaining in the second half. ORU strung together a 9-0 run over the next three minutes to take an 81-77 lead. After White scored to pull NDSU within two, the Bison got a stop at the defensive end, and Moni scored a bucket in the paint with three seconds on the clock to force overtime.
The Bison limited ORU to just seven free throws in the overtime period. Moni recorded the first nine points of OT for NDSU.
Moni finished with 32 points, eight rebounds and four assists. White posted 30 points, nine rebounds, two assists and two steals.
NDSU hosts Denver on Saturday at 1 p.m.
