The Minnesota Vikings surprised everybody in 2024. Going from the favorite to finish last in the NFC North to a 14-3 record, it was a hugely successful season for the Vikings. Their regular season success did not translate to the playoffs, but one player who can hang his head high is Jordan Addison. This is the dynasty outlook for Jordan Addison after his promising sophomore season.

Current Production
Addison’s raw numbers are very similar to last season’s numbers. He had the same number of touchdowns from scrimmage, seven fewer receptions and 36 fewer receiving yards. However, these numbers lack context. Addison came into the season with an ankle injury, which he played through and reaggravated, causing him to miss two games. Also, Justin Jefferson missed an extended period last season, which gave Addison some time as the WR1 in the Vikings offense.
Addison was still inconsistent. He had four full games below seven fantasy points but two with over 30. From Week 11 to 17, he was the WR6 overall. It’ll be crucial for Addison to find consistency, but he’s shown his potential to explode for massive performances. Had he not missed two games, he may have broken the 1,000-yard barrier.
Addison Dynasty Price
Addison started the season as the dynasty WR30 on KeepTradeCut and dipped as low as the WR36, but his run at the end of the season has brought him all the way up to WR19. That makes him the 54th-ranked player overall. It’s worth noting that despite finishing his second season, Addison only just turned 23. That makes him younger than rookies Ricky Pearsall and Jalen McMillan. He has plenty of time to grow and improve more.
Depending on the year, Addison is worth an early second or even late first-round pick in dynasty leagues. If he can build on his tools, he’ll become a surefire top-20 fantasy receiver. A trade for Addison would likely involve top-level players, but he’s far from unattainable.
Addison Dynasty Outlook
Addison is a great player, but there’s one issue. He plays on the same team as Justin Jefferson. This means that, as long as Addison plays for the Vikings, he‘ll never be the WR1, which caps his fantasy ceiling. He’s in the DeVonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle category of players who play second fiddle to superstar receivers.
The second question is the quarterback situation in Minnesota. Sam Darnold came in and played better than anyone would have imagined, but the Vikings used a top-10 pick on J.J. McCarthy. The Vikings have three options: extend Darnold and commit to him as the starter, franchise tag him and delay the decision by one year or let him walk in free agency, making McCarthy the starter.
Their decision will impact Addison’s outlook, but he’s a top-30 fantasy receiver at worst. At best, he can creep into the top 15 for the first time in his career in 2025. His age, skillset, and touchdown upside make him a desirable fantasy option.
What to Do With Jordan Addison in Dynasty Leagues
If Darnold is the starter, keep Addison, at least for 2025. If it’s McCarthy, you might be more inclined to trade him. Rookie quarterbacks can take a while to develop, and McCarthy doesn’t have outstanding physical tools. Addison’s value is quite high at the moment, so now would not be a bad time to send him away, depending on your estimation of McCarthy.
